Here at Stribe, we’ve been helping our customers build surveys and come up with survey questions for over 4 years. Over this time, we’ve learnt what makes an excellent survey and we’ve now launched a feature within the tool to share that knowledge with all of our customers.

Survey Tune, our question writing assistant, checks your survey questions to make sure they’re of great standard. Using pre-programmed knowledge from our people science team, Survey Tune will guide you to create a perfect survey question every time.

What rules does the Survey Tune use?

Survey Tune (link to article of what is survey tune), Stribe’s question writing assistant that helps you to create the perfect survey questions, but how does it know exactly what a perfect question is? Our people scientist’s have combined their knowledge with a sprinkling of AI.Some of the rules Survey Tune uses to check your questions are:

  • Clear and Simple: Is your question straightforward and focused and does it avoid any confusing terms or phrases?

  • Fair and Unbiased: Does your question avoid leading the responder towards a particular answer?

  • Respectful Language: Is your question respectful to everyone? And does it avoid words that might offend?

  • Direct and Specific: Are your questions precise enough to help you get the insights you need?

  • One Topic at a Time: Does your question only ask about one thing at a time?

  • Flexible: Is your question flexible enough to be relevant to everyone you’re sending it to?

  • Picking the Right Moment: The tool also helps you decide whether to ask about something right now or look for more reflective answers.

If your question ticks all the right boxes, you'll get a green light and a ‘This is a great question’. If there’s room for improvement, don’t worry—our tool will give you helpful feedback and suggest a few alternative ways to ask your question to get the best responses.

There’s no limit to the number of times you can use Survey Tune, it’s inbuilt into the survey creation process, you can check as many questions that you’d like!

We would love to get any feedback on where you’ve used Survey Tune to adjust your questions, or if you would like to see any other rules implemented into the tool!
