You want to share pulse surveys with your employees but they don't have access to emails. Or perhaps your employees are dispersed and rarely have time to work at their desks. In either case, it's important for you to be able to segment the data your receive and gain valuable insights into your teams.
By setting up demographic questions, you can obtain the information you need to see trends in your survey responses - without your employees needing to log in! These questions will appear across any survey that you're running at the same time.
There are just two steps to getting started:
Setting your Demographic Questions (optional)
In the Settings area of your account, select 'Pulse'
Here you can view any active questions
Click 'New demographic question' on the right hand side
Enter your question in the first text box
Type in your options below, ensuring you press enter and separate the responses line by line (see below)
Give your question a title. This is internal and will help to differentiate your question from any other demographic questions
Click 'Save'
You can set up multiple questions to get more insights from your results. Simply add another demographic question by following the previous steps.
Tip! The order you add your demographic questions in is the order each question will appear on the survey. So the first demographic question you add is the first that will pop up and so on! We recommend setting 2 - 4 demographic questions to keep your employees engaged with the survey.
You can enable and disable demographic questions at any time by clicking the buttons below. Disabling a question will move it down into your archive.
Creating your Pulse Survey
On the Pulse Campaigns tab, click 'Create campaign' in the top right corner.
Add your question. You can use a benchmark question or something you've previously asked. Alternatively, you can type in a new one!
Select your answer type. Note - This will be locked if you've selected a benchmark question.
Ask a follow up question to get more insights. Add word tiles to help direct your employees when responding and allow them to answer without the worry of being identified by their writing style.
Choose whether you’d like to tag a value onto the question. You can either choose from the drop down menu of values you’ve already set up, or set up a new value from this step.
You’ll get the option to attribute the value to certain answer selections depending on the answer type you choose. For example, if you’re asking a question with the emoji answer type, you may only want it to attribute to the value if it’s ‘happy and very happy’ or perhaps the opposite - depending on what you want to track!
Click save when you’ve added the value.
Save your question. You can add more by scrolling up the page and following steps 1-4 again.
Once you're happy with the series, click 'Confirm Campaign'.
Send your survey using a QR Code by selecting the 'QR Code' option. This will ensure your QR Code survey is accessible to anyone, without the need for a log in!
Click 'Next' and introduce your question. Your introductory text will appear when your employees scan the QR code!
Schedule your campaign and click 'Create Campaign'
You'll be taken through to your Pulse Summary where you can access your QR code!
Click 'Download QR Code' and copy the file into a survey poster to share throughout your organisation. You could also distribute these digitally and display them on PC and tablet backgrounds!
Accessing the QR Code via the Live Campaigns tab
On the live campaigns tab, scroll down to your chosen survey and click view results (this will only appear if you have received at least one response)
Under Pulse Actions, click Share
The Share your Campaign window will pop up automatically
Click Download QR Code on the right hand side
To keep the momentum going once your survey has ended, share your results with a 'You said, we did' and let your employees know the outcome of their responses. By keeping them in the loop, they'll see the value in their participation and encourage others to do the same! Click here to get started
